M&M’s Story
M&M’s mother was the first registered miniature horse I ever purchased, and she was the third miniature horse I owned. M&M was just a month old when I first saw his photo, and I fell in love instantly. There was something in his eyes, even then, that told me he would be special.

Until he turned two, he traveled everywhere with Bonnie. My vet affectionately nicknamed him “Bucky,” and the two of them became quite the pair. Their adventures even inspired a children’s book called Bucky and Bonnie’s Library Adventure, and they were featured in several events around Franklin, Tennessee, including one titled “Where are Bucky and Bonnie?” Watching them bring joy to others was one of the early sparks that led me toward therapeutic outreach.

I had M&M tested for dwarf genes and learned he carries one copy of the D2 gene. That makes him a dwarf carrier, not a dwarf himself. I’ve always been careful with breeding decisions. He’s never been paired with a mare who carries a dwarf gene, because I know that two copies are required to produce a dwarf foal. Responsible stewardship is at the heart of everything I do. Due to this, he has not had any foals because every mare owner that had a mare that wanted to breed to him also carried the dwarf gene.

Show Results
In 2015, I took M&M to the AMHA World Show. That trip was more about learning than competing. I wanted to understand how the big shows worked and what it would take to prepare for future success.

By 2018, I was ready to take him to both Nationals and Worlds. I couldn’t get enough time off to attend both myself, so I hired Laura Tennill to show him at Worlds. A week later, I took him to Nationals myself. He earned Reserve Champion titles at both shows, and I couldn’t have been prouder.

In 2019, Megan showed him in the youth hunter class, and out of 44 horses, M&M placed 8th. He’s always had a presence in the ring, and it’s been a joy to watch others connect with him the way I do.

Offspring
DDMinis Majics Music Man does not have any offspring, and that’s been a deliberate and responsible choice. Every mare that has been considered or offered for breeding has also carried a dwarf gene. Because M&M is a carrier of the D2 dwarf gene, I’ve made the decision not to breed him to any mare with a known dwarf gene to prevent the possibility of producing a dwarf foal. A dwarf requires two copies of a dwarf gene, one from each parent, and I’ve always prioritized ethical breeding practices and the long-term health of the miniature horse breed. As a result, M&M has not been bred to date.
Pedigree
DDMinis Majics Music Man carries the blood of some of the most iconic sires in the miniature horse world.
Bond Peppy Power
Beginning with Bond Peppy Power, a refined stallion bred by the legendary Bond Miniature Horse Farm. Foaled in 1982, Peppy Power was known for his elegance, compact build, and ability to consistently pass on refinement and show-ring presence. His offspring, including NFC Peppys Music Box and NFCS Fire and Ice, became champions in their own right, cementing his reputation as a cornerstone sire. His influence helped shape the modern miniature horse standard, blending beauty with a sense of balance.
NFCS Fire and Ice
One of Peppy Power’s most famous sons, NFCS Fire and Ice, added brilliance and charisma to the lineage. Foaled in 1988, Fire and Ice was a black tobiano stallion whose striking color and refined conformation made him a standout in both the show ring and the breeding shed. His sale at auction for $122,000 remains one of the highest recorded for a miniature stallion, underscoring his value and prestige. His descendants, such as Hunt House Farm Fire Dancer, carried forward his elegance and presence, making him a highly sought-after sire across generations.
Martin Boozers After Dark
Also woven into M&M’s heritage is Martins Boozers After Dark, a stallion celebrated for his bold color, correct conformation, and ability to sire both halter and driving champions. His lineage includes Lucky Four After Dark Spotacular, a World Champion known for refinement and athleticism. After Dark’s influence is especially strong in pinto lines, adding vibrancy and versatility to pedigrees. His presence in M&M’s background brings a touch of show-ring brilliance and expressive movement.
L & D Scout
Finally, L & D Scout stands as one of the most influential sires in AMHA history. A direct son of Orion-Light Van’t Huttenest, Scout was known for producing foals with exceptional refinement, balance, and charisma. His get dominated Futurity and National competitions, and his bloodline became a foundation for elite breeding programs like Fallen Ash Farm. Scout’s legacy is one of consistency and excellence, and his presence in Music Man’s pedigree adds depth, quality, and enduring prestige.
